Ruin of former SYHA youth hostel, Auchenblae
The former little youth hostel at Backbrae. north-west of Auchenblae, was opened in 1938 and closed in 1942. It is pictured here in ruinous state in 2002. The nearer building was the main hostel accommodation, there being originally an upper storey with dormer windows.
