Postman's Park, Aldersgate EC1
The churchyard of St Botolph's-Without-Aldersgate was converted into a garden, commonly called Postman's Park, and opened 1880. In 1900, the artist George Frederick Watts donated an arcade with terracotta tablets of his own design, seen in the background of this photo, to commemorate ordinary people who had given their lives in the course of heroic acts.
