It used to be that the last mainline steam locomotive was 92220 Evening Star, built at Swindon in 1960. Then came 60163 Tornado, an A1 class built in Darlington in 2008. Presently there are almost 20 'new builds' on the go and here is one of them, 82045, a British Railways Standard Class 3 2-6-2 tank engine. it will be ideally suited to a line like the Severn Valley Railway. The newly cast wheels.
