Beach and view across the Mersey from near the Mersey Way, Hale. Ineos (formerly ICI) chloralkali works visible across the river on the Runcorn shore. The Mersey Way (aka Within Way in this section) is forced to leave the banks of the Mersey here and turn inland to Hale before following the road to Hale Bank, where it returns to the riverside at Pickering's Pasture. Perhaps one day there will be a bridge across the outfall of Ram's Brook and the riverside route could be connected across Hale Marsh?
