The salt marsh beyond Wigg Island Community Park is clearly marked on the information map as 'no public access', but at 20.00 on a sunny Saturday evening, who was to know? So it was over the fence and a 150 metre stroll across the marsh to a point well inside this hard-to-reach square. Much of the marsh is dry, but it is intersected by narrow streams, as in this view. Fiddlers Ferry Power Station can be seen in the distance.
