Brookwood Cemetery
Brookwood Cemetery
This is the view of the cemetery from its main gate. When it opened in 1854 it was the largest in the world and only 500 of the proposed 2000 acres had been used at that point. Since then over 250,000 people have been buried in this rural spot. Built on sandy heathland 25 miles from London, the graves are set in plots among huge numbers of trees and shrubs which include several avenues of giant sequoia.
