Beech trees on sheepfold
Beech trees on sheepfold
The stone circle of the sheepfold below Kittuck Meads has turned into a ring of beech trees. LinkExternal link (Archive LinkExternal link ) states that it was "constructed shortly after 1878 following the loss of many sheep in severe snowstorms". It stands just south of SS8244 : Three Combes Foot, in between the Chalk Water (beyond it) and the unnamed combe in the foreground. A wall-like outcrop of rock runs across the ridge on the right. The path on the left is heading for the footbridge shown in SS8244 : Three Combes Foot.
