Christ Church, Skipton, Yorkshire
Christ Church, Skipton, Yorkshire
This church stands on the west side of Keighley Road, just south of the canal bridge. Notice boards outside proclaim it to be the 'Parish Church of Skipton', but it was consecrated in 1839 and it is therefore a much more recent building than the mediaeval Holy Trinity Church at the other end of the town. This church and the parish covers the whole of Skipton south of the present A6069 road, undoubtedly matching the development of Skipton mostly on the South side of the town centre. The extent of the parish can be seen at LinkExternal link
