St. Edmund's Church, Acle, Norfolk
This beautiful church is an absolute gem, unique with its combination of a round tower (with octagonal battlemented top) and a thatched roof. The building is believed to date back to 900 A.D. and has been fully and lovingly restored. Acle is a large and lively village: almost a small town, after all, it boasts a motel and a railway station. If you want to escape from the Hooray Henries and floating gin palaces on the Broads, try Acle.
