Ivybridge Railway Station
Ivybridge Railway Station
Opened in 1994, 40 years after the old station closed, this railway station has not been a great success in attracting rail travellers. One of the reasons for this is that the levels of car ownership in Ivybridge are very high and the A38 road link to Plymouth is very good. A local pressure group has had success in pursuading rail companies to stop more trains at the station, however there is little prospect of this becoming a busy station until something drastic happens to dissuade people from travelling by car.
