St Philip's Cathedral
St Philip's Cathedral
Designed in 1709 by Thomas Archer, extended by Julius Alfred Chatwin in 1883 and made the cathedral of the diocese in 1905, St Philip's is the only baroque cathedral in the Church of England. It is built of Rowington stone, quarried near Warwick, and its pedestrianised close is a much-valued green space in the heart of the city.
