The Ruins of Knowsley Farm
Knowsley Farm was situated high above the present Grane Road a short distance aong a trackway built in the 1620's encircling new lands taken in from the moor. This 1620's track branched off the ancient Grane Road where it bent south east to Souter Hill. SD7323 : Old Grane Road leading down towards Souter Hill Farm Knowsley was at the junction with another old track leading over Oswaldtwistle Moor to Higher Warmwithens and Oswaldtwistle
