NN7399 : Tin cottage, Highland Folk Museum

taken 8 years ago, near to Newtonmore, Highland, Scotland

Tin cottage, Highland Folk Museum
Tin cottage, Highland Folk Museum
A corrugated iron dwelling; in front is an iron rick stand, on which hay would be built up into a rick for drying. The mushroom-shaped collars on the legs were there to discourage rats from climbing up and nesting in the hay. The roof of the modern building in the background is 'Am Fasgadh' or the storage facility for museum acquisitions.
