St John, Largs
St John, Largs
Built as a Free Church in 1843 and named St Johns in 1900 after union with the Free and United Presbyterian Churches. Designed by A J Graham, the building is in the Romanesque style with the tall tower at the north-west corner and vestry to the south-west linked by an arcaded narthex.

Narthex - The narthex of a church is the entrance or lobby area, located at the west end of the nave. Traditionally the narthex was a part of the church building, but was not considered part of the church proper.
