Birks Mill footbridge washed away
Birks Mill footbridge washed away
The footbridge over the River Rawthey at Birks Mill outside Sedbergh lies in ruins. It was washed away by Storm Desmond in December 2015.

The destruction of the bridge severed the footpath link between Birks and Catholes, forcing walkers to take a 2km detour via Millthrop.
