Castles of Munster: Clodah, Cork
There are at least two castles close to Crookstown in Co. Cork, one is Castle More about 2 km to the northeast LinkExternal link the other is 0.5 km to the southwest seen here. This is Clodah Castle, it probably dates from the C16 as the fourth storey has a fireplace in the east wall dated 1598. It also bears the initials of Brian MacSweeney and his wife Orona FitzGerald who restored the tower after it was wrecked by James FitzGerald.
