Sunken Parterre Garden at Hanbury Hall
Sunken Parterre Garden at Hanbury Hall
The formal gardens at Hanbury were originally designed by George London around 1700. The Dutch style parterre had reverted to a lawn until the NT started to restore it in 1993 using old paintings and plans as a guide. Today it is back to its former glory having matured beautifully in the past few years. To the left NT staff are busily trimming the box hedges.
