The stone in the foreground is a boundary marker on Kingston Great Common. This side of the stone is Ringwood parish, and the far side is Burley parish. The parish boundary, which cuts across the mires and heath between Lugden Barrow to the south and Knaves Ash barrow to the north, is also part of the perambulation of the New Forest Crown lands.
