Muddy ford north-west of Dur Hill Inclosure, New Forest
Muddy ford north-west of Dur Hill Inclosure, New Forest
The stream that flows from left to right follows the course of the dismantled Brockenhurst-Ringwood railway line (the so-called Castleman Corkscrew). This ford is at the western end of the cutting to the north of the Dur Hill Inclosure. A causeway has been made across the stream for people on foot. It looks as if the pine extracted from Kingston Great Common would have to pass this way, then on through the inclosure to the road.
