This mine shaft is only protected by a flimsy wire fence, but is probably about 100 feet deep! Situated at MR: SE082779

Further information provided by Tom Knapp: It is actually 114ft deep - we measured with a rod, line & tape. According to Michael Gill it is an old coal mine.
