Recycling centre
Recycling centre
This 'civic amenity' for St David's and the community around is placed well away from public view on the northern perimeter of the former St David's airfield which was opened in 1943 for use by the RAF Coastal Command and remained in operational readiness (although disused) until 1993. The area occupied by the recycling centre is in fact the former arms dump/bomb store for the aerodrome.
Buddleia, to the left of the signs, and elsewhere, has established itself probably from garden waste.
