Gwrhyd Leat, Rhodiad y Brenin
Gwrhyd Leat, Rhodiad y Brenin
This was a mill, marked as such on the older maps. A grindstone (not visible in the image) stands outside the house, its shape is echoed in the modern semi-circular window. There is a listed stone bridge to the left, across the little river Alun whose water powered the mill.
There are several dwellings close by with the name Gwrhyd: it seems to be an obsolete word for a battle - or a miracle.
