Boundary marker stone, Lugden Barrow, New Forest
This close-up shows the boundary stone on Lugden Barrow, at the eastern corner of Bisterne Common. The boundary between adjacent commons in the west and Crown lands of the New Forest in the east follows a straight line to the north, as far as Knaves Ash over 3 kilometres to the north. This face of the stone is inscribed with what looks like an upwards-pointing arrow. This stone can be seen in its wider context in this photo: SU1800 : Eastern corner of Bisterne Common, New Forest.
