Sandy gulley, Dur Hill Inclosure, New Forest
This rich red sand is exposed in a branching network of gulleys on the side of the hill leading down into Lugden Bottom. Self-sown conifers are spreading down the banks. The area immediately around this gulley has been cleared of pines.
