At the Cumberland Pencil Museum
The Cumberland Pencil Co has a museum on the site of its factory in Keswick. It tells the history of pencil manufacture and how pencils are made. It houses the longest coloured pencil ever made, a total of 7.91 metres long. The vehicle in this photograph is the company's only surviving 1950s delivery van. It is a Morris J class van and was discovered under a pile of boxes in the1970s when some old outbuildings were being cleared. It has been lovingly restored, is fully road-worthy and is taken to vintage rallies.
