To be honest, there was little of distinction in this pleasant rural gridsquare. Until the signpost at the junction of Arley Lane and Blundell Lane announced "Aberdeen 3/4mi". Local residents (who wondered if we were robbers casing the joint) pointed out that the local Baron was from Fifeshire, and chose to name districts in a manner that relieved his homesickness.
