Cairn on Kirk Fell
Cairn on Kirk Fell
The southern slopes of Kirk Fell fall steeply to Wasdale Head and this cairn marks where the path starts its descent. Beyond is a glorious view of Wasdale and Wastwater situated below Illgill Head and Whin Rigg, better known as the Screes. Burnmoor Tarn can be seen to the left of centre.
