Trellech's Victorian postbox (1881)
Trellech's Victorian postbox (1881)
This is an 1881 W.T. Allen and Company box which would originally have had a smaller posting aperture of less than 8 inches, then modified in situ, between 1959 and 1965, by cutting out the aperture and fitting a new casting over it.
The white area once held a collection plate with a next collection tablet in the top right-hand corner of the plate.
