Kate's Place
Kate's Place
Taken from NT 191 863 GB. Now just a ruin, the cottage was once occupied, over 30 years ago, by a woman known as Kate ( Rendall / Randall / Reynold(s)/?surname unknown. She kept many dogs which could be heard from miles around on a clear night. Looking at the construction you might see there is no insulation in the roofspace. Ooer...'n' jings... would have been a wee bit cauld on a braw bricht moonlicht winter's nicht. Just inside the square the cottage is only a stone's throw over the hill to the next grid square north and Cullaloe Nature Reserve.
