Abbey River canyon and Blackpool Mill
Abbey River canyon and Blackpool Mill
This is described by Steers as "a good and mature canyon about 64 yards long and 15 yards deep; it is formed along the strike of sandstone beds in an anticline" ("Coastline of England & Wales",1946). It is immediately preceded by a waterfall down the dip of the rocks, rather like Milford Water at Speke's Mill Mouth.

Behind is SS2225 : Blackpool Mill.
