Former hydraulic power centre and policeman's lodge, Wapping Dock, Liverpool
Two "architectural flights of fancy" by Jesse Hartley. The embattled accumulator tower dates from 1855-56. The contemporary lodge is rather more exotic, granite and crowned with a conical roof like a wizard's hat. Both grade II listed.
