Nursery Lane Bridge, Sprotbrough
Nursery Lane Bridge, Sprotbrough
Seeming to define the shape of the foliage in front of it is this brick-built bridge which once carried the Hull Barnsley and West Riding Junction Railway and Dock Company's route south-west from Sprotbrough. It has proved rather more durable than the railway itself, which lost its passenger trains as long ago as 1903 and closed completely in 1964.
