SO4163 : Chaff Wood

Chaff Wood
Chaff Wood
Looking across to Chaff Wood from Blackthorn Wood. There is a breach in the limestone ridge here, probably a former river valley. Drainage in North Herefordshire was drastically altered in the Ice Age, with both the Teme and Lugg being diverted by moraines and new meltwater gorges into very different courses.
