SO4593 : Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton

taken 8 years ago, near to Church Stretton, Shropshire, England

Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton
Sandford Avenue, Church Stretton
First laid out in 1884 at the start of the expansion of Church Stretton as an inland resort, based on its unrivalled position at the foot of Long Mynd and the Shrewsbury to Hereford railway line. There are good individual shops elsewhere in the town, but this is the main retail street. A fine eclectic display of Late Victorian and Edwardian buildings, inspired by the leading architects and still in original condition.
