taken 11 years ago, near to Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, Great Britain

Upwich brine pit, Droitwich
Upwich brine pit, Droitwich
A modern reconstruction of a pit dating back to the Romans and on the site of a previous major archaeological dig (a copy of the report is in my loft).

Droitwich is founded on salt - hence the "wich" in the name, as in the Cheshire "wiches".

Motto - Sal Sapit Omnia (salt flavours all).
