The mela is an annual festival celebrating various aspects of South Asian culture. It is held in the Town Gardens municipal park in Old Town. This view shows visitors enjoying the sun while waiting for the next event in the bandstand. Victorian in origin, it has recently been refurbished. The clock keeps good time.

Note: the lead roof seen here was subsequently attacked by bipedal vermin. It has since been replaced using zinc, a material which isn't quite so attractive to them.
