Bournemouth: Pavilion Theatre
Perceived as early as 1859, the Authority first sanctioned proposals for a building – comprising concert room, reading rooms and cafés – in 1892. The Pavilion was officially opened by HRH the Duke of Gloucester on 19 March 1929. It had cost £250,000.

As a result, in 1933 The concert hall's stage was enlarged in 1933, in both depth and height, and was reopened as a theatre in July 1934.
