New kids on the block
New kids on the block
Framed against the mountains of Snowdonia which date from the period of the Caledonian orogeny, Llyn Trawsfynydd and the Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station are very new kids on the block. The lake was created in the 1920s and the Atomfa (the Welsh word for a nuclear power station) dates only from the 1960s and is already decommissioned.
