The property on the near end of the terrace is now a small museum showing what everyday life would have like for a typical 19th century worker in the nearby GWR workshops having been restored to original condition. The rest of the terrace comprises houses owned by the local council as part of its housing stock. The Railway Village was built in the mid 19th century when Brunel decided to erect a huge railway factory here at that time. The village was completely restored by the council in the late 1960s when it took over the estate from British Rail.
