SZ1396 : Bridleway crossing on the A338

Bridleway crossing on the A338
Bridleway crossing on the A338
This gap between the barriers on the central reservation is where a bridleway from Town Common to Ramsdown crosses the busy A338 dual carriageway. It is not a pleasant place to cross, and the bend in the road makes it particularly tricky to cross safely from the Ramsdown side. The bridleway across the heathland (now nature reserves) was presumably here before the spur road was built.
