SZ6495 : Horse Sand buoy

taken 8 years ago, 3 km from Southsea, Portsmouth, England

Horse Sand buoy
Horse Sand buoy
One of several buoys to the east side of the deep water approach to Portsmouth. The suction dredger 'Shoalway' is beyond, this was seen earlier in the day much closer to shore along the approach. Its activity is not believed to be routine, but to do with permanently improving the approach channel to allow new large aircraft carriers to dock.
