NY8732 : Gateposts

taken 8 years ago, near to Langdon Beck, County Durham, England

Gateposts
Gateposts
The two erect stones astride an old quarry access road in Teesdale are clearly gateposts - there are the usual fixings for hanging gates. - and yet there's not a trace of any fence or wall running away from them in either direction!
The cloud-shadowed hill in the distance above the central stone is Meldon Hill. The Dun Fells and Cross Fell are the three skyline peaks at the right side of the image.
