TQ4078 : Aggregate train from Angerstein Wharf
near to Greenwich, Great Britain

Aggregate train from Angerstein Wharf
The freight branch to Angerstein Wharf dates from 1852, and once served up to 14 different private sidings handling a huge variety of traffic. It now only serves the Day Aggregates terminal (ref: "Greenwich Marsh - the 300 years before the Dome", M.Mills,ISBN 0 9535245 0 7). Shot from a public foot crossing of the line that gives access to Westcombe Park station via a footbridge over the A102. The graffiti-covered control cabinet indicates that this is not a remote rural location!
