Crossing to Ynys Llanddwyn
Crossing to Ynys Llanddwyn
The map implies that, even at Mean High Water, it is possible to cross to Llanddwyn Island dry-shod. But at High Water Spring Tides (which occur near the equinoxes, i.e. March and September), this is not the case. Fortunately I observed a local who had made this crossing many times before, and by following his line (to the left of the central rock, and then bearing left) I crossed with just a paddle.

Nobody need seriously worry about being stranded here. Unlike other popular tidal islands such as Lindisfarne, it is unlikely that you would have to wait more than an hour or so before being able to return.
