As I scurried across the sands towards the Eastern Craigs I surmised that no doubt Richard Webb had been there before me (is there anywhere in Edinburgh that he has not visited?). Indeed I later found out that he had been there, and that he had found similar terrain to that which I had found (i.e. Mussel Beds
NT2877 : Mussel beds, Eastern Craigs.).
However I also discovered seals (the oink oink variety) basking on a rock. Unfortunately I did not have my camera ready so when I popped my head over the horizen both seals and I got a shock. The seals got into the water quicker than I could get my camera out and focussed on the creatures as they wallowed into the sea. At least I caught a good view of them a few yards off the shore

So the message for this square is do not be put off by the seagulls and keep your camera at the ready.
