The Afon Hyddgen, formed from the merger of the Afon Llygnant, Nant Goch and Nant Bryn-moel in the NW corner of the square, flows in a wide valley NW to S through this square. The eastern half of the square contains the western slope of Carn Hyddgen SN7990 : The twin cairns of Carn Gwilym, the adjacent hill. The larger hill in the background is Plynlimon with its main summit, Pumlumon Fawr SN7886 : Pumlumon Fawr summit cairn.
