Rocks exposed by low tide, Hanover Point
These rocks are exposed at low tide, just off Hanover Point. The area is famous for its dinosaur fossils, and is also marked 'fossil forest' on the map. You can easily find pieces of lignite here. The figures in the middle distance have their heads down, either looking for fossils or watching their step on the slippery rocks. The headland in the far distance is the western end of the Isle of Wight chalk ridge.
