The Durlston Globe from above
The Durlston Globe from above
This feature above the cliffs of Durlston Head is modestly described as the "Large Globe" on the nearby signposts in Durlston Country Park. The 3 metre diameter, 40 tonne limestone globe was commissioned by the then manager of Mowlem, George Burt, and engraved with an 1880s world map.
