The Old Lifeboat House
The Old Lifeboat House
Worthing had a lifeboat station from 1852 until 1930 during which time the lifeboat was launched 36 times and saved 58 lives LinkExternal link. This was Worthing's third (and last) lifeboat station housing the lifeboat from 1865 to 1930. It is now a private residence and, although considerably altered, still retains the original building's distinctive look: compare with the postcard from 1907 from the West Sussex Past website LinkExternal link.
