A busy crossroads in an area of mixed use, photographed on a bright, cold, late-December day. The trees are False Acacias, Robinia pseudoacacia, a north American species that had a vogue in Leamington, perhaps in the late 19th century. It grows fast, has delicate foliage and racemes of scented white pea flowers in early summer. The wood is brittle; older trees tend to fall apart; meanwhile young trees are developing from suckers.
